Day 152: Hi-res photos, including scars

Here are the photos of my 'scars'.

I think they're not really obvious unless someone is really, really close to your face. Like my sister told me it looks like a scratch. Maybe because it's a little bumpy. At least it is 100% skin-coloured!

And no, it doesn't bother me. I don't find it obvious.

I used a digi camera for this post to get sharper and clearer pics. All of my other pics in the previous posts were taken using the front camera of my phone.

  1. Hi, thanks for sharing the high res photos! Did Dr. Tay mention that the scar will still continue to fade? Sorry if you had already mentioned before (I may have missed it), how high did you request for your crease? Thanks!

    1. Sorry, I have one more question. How long after the surgery you can start to rub your eyes?

    2. During my 3rd month, he said my scar will continue to fade more.
I am at my 5th month now. I don't think there was any significant difference from then and now.

On the day of my surgery, he cut the crease at 8.3mm for me. Now it's 8mm, exactly.

I only started rubbing my eyes around the 4th-5th month. I think you can start rubbing your eyes maybe around the 3rd month already. I am not a constant eye-rubber anyway.

    3. Hello! It is day 4 for me after I had non incisional eyelid surgery. I have significant bruising at the ends of both eyes similar to the day 4-6 photos you previously posted. How long did it take for this to go away? I am afraid it will turn into a hematoma or something...also does it help to keep icing the eyes at this point? Please let me know! I am hoping the bruising goes away sooner than later...my main concern...

    4. Hi! Back-tracking, I posted on Day 15 that bruising is mostly gone.

You can see Day 15's photos here: http://doubleeyelidgirl.blogspot.sg/2015/04/day-15.html

I remembered applying ice-pack very regularly during the week after my surgery. Then, after removing my stitches, I only iced once a day and soon, I stopped. Yes, I definitely think it helps to ice because it was the doctor's orders. I am not sure if icing helps with bruises because I was concentrating on de-swelling and I found it worked well.

Day 4 is pretty early and yes, it's always the beginning that gets you super worried. I'd say give it another 3 days (to make it a full week) and see how it goes. Then, you should call the doctor and ask if what you are experiencing is normal. (Bruising seems to get worst before it gets better, in my experience)

It also doesn't help to keep looking at the mirror, and hopefully you haven't been touching, poking, prodding at your skin because it's pretty delicate now.
